Nearly all projects now require some type of on-site stormwater infiltration system. SCG has extensive experience in performing infiltration studies that establish the infiltration rate of the on-site soils and identify geotechnical considerations regarding these systems.
SoCalGeo has performed infiltration studies on hundreds of projects in the Southern California region. Most projects will require some type of system to provide on-site disposal or treatment of stormwater. We have extensive knowledge of the standard infiltration test methods required by the local agencies. These methods may include the Double Ring Infiltrometer, hollow-stem auger borings, or test trenches. We work closely with the developer and civil engineer to determine the infiltration rate of the soils in the location and depth of the proposed infiltration system. In many cases, SCG has provided recommendations for alternate infiltration systems that have greatly reduced the cost and footprint of the system, thereby allowing the project to proceed in a more cost-effective manner.
